Robin birdAfter the yard guys mowed my yard the other day, I looked out the window and wondered why they had left a small strip of it un-mowed.  It was very obvious and quite high compared to the newly mowed grass.  Then I remembered.

A week or two before I had told them there was a Mama Robin sitting on her nest of eggs in a bush near my driveway and I asked them to be careful in that area.  They looked at me like I was a big dork and I’m ok with that.  It matters to me to not scare her off the nest so that the babies will make it.

When I saw the area that wasn’t mowed, it took me a minute to realize it was a little strip just around the forsythia bush which is home to Mama Robin.  The guys had remembered and made an effort not to scare her!

I can’t tell you how much it warmed my heart to see that.  And Mama Robin is still sitting on her 4 blue eggs, being a good mama, making sure they stay safe.

Here’s some Robin Totem information from Steven Farmer’s book, “Animal Spirit Guides”.

If Robin shows up it means:

It’s time to let go of anything in your life that’s outmoded and stagnant and plant the seeds for the new by setting your goals and intentions for the coming year.

Let go of your attachment to drama and allow as much joy and laughter into your life as you possibly can.

Your spiritual path is steady and slow, with challenges along the way, yet it inevitably leads to your achieving your spiritual ideals.

You have a beautiful song inside you, so do whatever it takes to share it with the world.

Expect new growth in a number of areas in your life.

Make a wish, be patient, and watch how it comes true.
