Ahhh, blessed winter Solstice, the new year and return to light.

I was reminded today of something I shared in 2012, after sitting in a 13 hour ceremony with Mayan elders in Guatemala.  I was blessed to sit with them on a mountain overlooking Antigua on 12-21-12.  It was a very interesting night, and not one that I ever feel called to do again.  Amidst the chaos that was Baktun, there were moments of deep wisdom.  Here is what I wrote back then, in 2012:

“In ceremony with the Maywinter-solstice-imagean elders, they found it strange that anyone thought the world was going to end.  In ceremony for Baktun, we didn’t discuss shifting into a new paradigm, or the transformation of consciousness.  We did listen to the wind.  We did put our bare feet on the Earth.  We did ask the Sun, the Moon, the Grandmothers and Grandfathers, the Stars and the Galaxies, to guide us and teach us.  We did offer gifts for all those who are here and all those who are to come.  We did offer gratitude for our lives, this Earth, this moment, each moment.”

Create personal ritual for yourself to honor this time of seasons shifting, the deep winter energies, and our return to the light.  Ritual can be anything that feels good to you, anything that feels resonant and is created with intention.

Blessed Solstice dear ones.  May the seeds you plant in the deep winter blossom and come to fruition with grace and ease, joy and fulfillment in this coming season.
